Babies found dead in hot car known to Department of Child Safety
It’s been confirmed the two babies who were found dead after being left in a hot car south of Brisbane were known to the Department of Child Safety.
Kerri-Ann Conley has been charged with two counts of murder after her daughters were left in a car outside their Logan house on a 31-degree day.
Two-year-old Darcey-Helen and one-year-old Chloe-Ann were carried lifeless from their home at 1.35pm on Saturday, having died from exposure to extreme heat.
It’s alleged their 27-year-old mother fell asleep inside the house while her children were left in the car.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has now confirmed the family was known to the Department of Child Safety.
The government will conduct a review into the deaths.
