Rapid antigen tests will be available for purchase at major supermarkets from next week.

Coles will be the first to stock the 15-minute turn-around kits across 700 stores across the country.

It will stock a Chinese-manufactured nasal test, which is one of eight approved for at-home use in Australia.

Today reporter Jess Millward told Neil Breen those who test positive will need to get a PCR test.

“They aren’t as accurate as the swab test, … [but] these will be really convenient.”
