Politicians trade barbs over $400 million health budget cuts claim
The LNP has released startling figures today, claiming millions have been slashed from Queensland’s health budget.
Opposition Leader David Crisafulli told Neil Breen more than $400 million has been slashed in three years, through what the state government calls “efficiency dividends”.
“We’re not talking about magical, mystical numbers, we’re talking about cuts to the health and hospital networks at the frontline,” he said.
“Queenslanders deserve to ask those questions and they deserve to get the answers.
“In the middle of the Queensland Health crisis, which has been over half a decade in the making, this is just one of the most nonsensical decisions I’ve ever seen.”

Calling in to Neil following Mr Crisafulli’s claims, Treasurer Cameron Dick vehemently denied any cuts to the health system.
He said the data was dishonest and a scaremongering tactic, “all part of his disinformation campaign to upset Queenslanders”.
“As every Queenslander knows, David Crisafulli is just full of it,” he said. “The reality is, we have never cut the health system and we never will.
“If David Crisafulli was telling the truth and you had slashed, in his words, $400 million from the health budget, there would be more than 3000 people less.
“People would know about that, frankly, Neil, you couldn’t hide it and they would be ringing you up and coming on your program.”
