CAN YOU HELP? Urgent plea for toys this Christmas
The Salvation Army is issuing an appeal for toys and gifts to help families and their children in need this Christmas.
Many families often rely on the support of the Salvation Army to provide toys and gifts to their families.
Last year the Salvos provided 26,000 toys and gifts to families who access their services.
Simon Gregory from The Salvation Army told Scott Emerson there had been less donations this year.
“Up until now, we’re up over the 5000 mark but we need around 30,000 to fill all of our orders for this year, and as you say we are starting to see it come through the last two days, but very late coming and we are seeing very much a reduction in numbers.”
He said the next week and half was the time to do it – to make sure presents could be delivered to kids in need.
