Queensland is shaping up to be a crucial battleground for marginal seats, with the federal election just months away.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese flew into the Sunshine State today, and Prime Minister Scott Morrison is expected to visit this week too, as the political opponents gear up for their pre-election campaigns.

Political expert from Griffith University, Paul Williams, said there are predictions for swings away from the Coalition in all states, except Queensland.

“Very difficult to see Anthony Albanese walking into The Lodge if he doesn’t bring Queensland with him,” he told Scott Emerson.

He said the Labor Party had to do “most of its homework” in Queensland, and especially outside of Brisbane.
