Novavax vaccine granted provisional approval in Australia
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has granted provisional approval for the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
This is the first protein COVID-19 vaccine to receive regulatory approval in Australia.
To be fully vaccinated with Novavax, individual will need to receive two doses, three weeks apart.
It will be available for people aged 18 years or older.
The vaccine has not been given approval to be used as a booster shot.
