‘Stamp it out’: Opposition calls for ‘full-blown commission’ into integrity saga
The Opposition Leader is repeating calls for a broader integrity probe into the Palaszczuk government.
Former state archivist Mike Summerell says he raised concerns about interference and the declining standard of government record-keeping.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk ordered a QC investigation, which she says will be kept “at arm’s length from the government”.
But David Crisafulli told Ray Hadley it won’t be enough when the commissioner appointed to the investigation won’t be allowed to conduct interviews.
“They’re viewing it as a media issue they’re trying to ride out rather than a corruption issue they need to stamp out,” he said.
“This is about systemic corruption in the government. Nothing short of a full-blown commission will get to the bottom of it.”
