Ross Wilson eager to share new tunes to wow fans
Australian rock classic Eagle Rock has been around for 50 years, and Ross Wilson says he accepted long ago it had taken on a life of its own.
It was released in 1971, but it’s a tune that’s carried on through generations.
He told Sofie Formica he might have sung it hundreds and hundreds of times as the frontman of Daddy Cool, and it still puts a smile on his face.
“It just gets people out, if they haven’t been doing anything the jump up and dance around and that’s my job, you know, get people moving.”
He joked the song’s been in everything from “The Wiggles to Wolf Creek”.
“It’s a song for all occasions.”
He’s celebrating the song and the music of the band with a new tour, and may even share some new songs and music that will surprise fans.
“That’s where I really live, on the stage … even writing songs it’s like you’re in a waiting room you want to get them out there and play them.”
