Energy Minister unveils $50 million plan to avoid Euro-style gas shortage
The federal government will accelerate seven gas projects, as part of a $50 million investment in next Tuesday’s budget.
Gas infrastructure is being fast-tracked to ensure supply, as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“Those huge price rises that have happened in Europe and in Asia … haven’t occurred here,” Energy Minister Angus Taylor told Neil Breen.
“The reason is we’re getting gas out of the ground at a greater rate than we have in the past.
“We’ve got to keep gas coming out and getting to the right places.”
