Investigations are underway into the cause of a plane crash in China, with rescuers finding no survivors in the wreckage.

The China Eastern Airways Boeing 737-800s was carrying 132 people when it crashed into a mountainous area in the southern part of the country, on the way to Guangzhou.

Shocking videos have emerged of the incident, showing MU5735 falling towards the ground in a horrifying nosedive.

Based on the footage he’s seen, aviation expert Neil Hansford told Scott Emerson he doesn’t believe it was a mechanical issue.

“I think those videos show it going down, falling like a stone, suggest to me it’s not a normal mechanical event that may happen on what is one of the safest aircraft in the world.

“It opens up a number of potential aspects.”
