Prime Minister hits back at ‘disappointed’ Liberal senator’s scathing review
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he’s taken no offence to scathing remarks by an outgoing Liberal senator.
Concetta Fierravanti-Wells used a late-night speech to the Senate to launch a scathing attack on Scott Morrison.
The outgoing senator says Mr Morrison has disenfranchised Liberal Party members in his home state of New South Wales.
“I understand that Connie was disappointed,” he told Neil Breen. “500 members of the Liberal party came together on Saturday and they made their choice.
“In previous times, Connie’s had very strong support but when she’s disappointed, I know my predecessors have also felt those sorts of remarks.
“Politics has its disappointments.”
Mr Morrison said he wasn’t personally offended by the remarks, which described him as “an autocrat” and “a bully with no moral compass” who pretends to be a man of faith.
“If you want to do this job you cant be precious and you can’t be a petal.”
