Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has pledged a $200 million upgrade for the Bruce Highway.

It would be widened to eight lanes from Dohles Rocks Road to Anzac Avenue, if Labor wins the election.

Peter Fegan, filling in for Scott Emerson, says it is likely the election will be called within days and held on 14 May.

Griffith MP and Shadow Minister for Water and Environment, Terri Butler, spoke to Peter about the election pledge.

Peter: The Bruce Highway, Queenslanders are sick of hearing it, are we actually going to see an upgrade if Labor gets in?

Ms Butler: No one loves infrastructure more than Anthony Albanese in my experience, he talks about it all the time in private and in public and that’s because he knows what infrastructure is, it’s the way we improve quality of life, improve local roads and we get people off the roads quicker and back home to their kids and back home to their families.
