Boy suffers head injury after Movie World ride incident
A boy has been taken to hospital with a head injury after an incident at a Gold Coast theme park today.
The incident is believed to have occurred at Movie World just after 1pm.
He’s in a serious but stable condition.
Nine News reporter Reece D’Alessandro crossed to 4BC Drive for the latest.
He says the boy suffered a deep laceration to the back of his head.
“We understand this has happened while he’s been on the Looney Tunes carousel.”
The ride has been closed while an investigation gets underway.

“He has received lacerations to the head and has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition,” she said.

In a statement this afternoon, a spokesperson for Village Roadshow Theme Parks, which runs Movie World, says the ride has been closed while they investigate.
“The guest received a laceration to his head and was attended to by Movie World’s Nurse before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
“Our thoughts are with the guest and his family and we wish him a speedy recovery.
“We pride ourselves on our standards of care and quality and an investigation is being conducted as a matter of priority into the exact cause of the incident. In an abundance of caution the ride has been closed while we understand how the incident occurred.”
