The $3.6 billion development of Queen’s Wharf is set to partially open in mid-2023.

It includes residential complex, four hotels, as well as a retail and restaurant precinct.

Simon Crookes, project director of Destination Brisbane Consortium, says there are corridors and rooms being fitted out and it was an exciting time and things were moving fast.

“I noticed today that the first floor of the hotel facade on the grand hotel was up,” he told Peter Psaltis filling in on 4BC Drive.

“I hadn’t seen that for a while, really exciting.”

He said retail shops, restaurants will be open mid-next year, as well as the main two hotels facing the river will be open.

Mr Crookes says their focus is to make the precinct attractive to locals.

“Tourists only go where the locals go, so our focus at Queen’s Wharf is to make it attractive to the locals to use, because then tourists follow them.”
