An early morning debate between Tanya Plibersek and Barnaby Joyce that descended into chaos could turn people off politicians, the Labor frontbencher has admitted. 

The two political opponents clashed over their housing policies on Sunrise this week.

“What I wanted to do was talk about Barnaby’s policy that he had announced one day earlier that he refused to talk about,” Ms Plibersek told Scott Emerson.

“I mean it is a bit frustrating I know people listen to that and I do worry it turns them off politics, because we need to be able to disagree better.

“It wasn’t nice to listen to, and wasn’t very nice to be a part of.”
