The state opposition has hit out at the state government as Queensland faces power outages tonight and tomorrow morning.

Energy Minister Mick de Brenni released a statement saying they were monitoring the situation closely.

“Queenslanders have conserved energy in situations like this before as recently as last year and I’m confident Queenslanders will be able to do it again.”

Shadow minister for natural resources, mines and energy Pat Weir predicted it would be “tight” for a few days.

“This will continue, I think for some time.

“And the Minster needs to come clean and tell the general public what we are in for.”
