Lexus RX350 F Sport SUV – a new model around the corner but still a very worth purchase
Driving Lexus’s large RX SUV today – the fourth generation updated early 2020 in 11 models – I’m behind the wheel of the best seller, the five seat RX350 F Sport all-wheel-drive at $95,513. There’s an all-new RX due late this year however the current model whilst showing its age is still a worthy purchase.
The styling subjective – not everybody likes the bold grille and sharp edge styling but inside it’s a different story a very welcoming, and practical five-seater with some nice touches, a little dated in concept, a little old worldly, it even has an analogue clock, but supremely comfortable with a nice choice of materials, beautifully executed in the Lexus tradition and quality is paramount.
One of the 2020 updates was a welcome larger 12.3-inch touchscreen although Lexus persist with a touchpad controller on the centre console that is so frustrating to use – finger light and impractical. The RX350 F Sport may be showing its age in parts however it’s a very nice luxury driver – the 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 links to a conventional silky 8-speed automatic driving all four wheels.
The engine quiet yet rather thirsty when pushed and I only managed a best of 11.8 L/100Km. But the drive train’s smooth delivery absolutely first class. Warranty five-years/Unlimited km.
