‘Prince of Caxton St’ Mike Gambaro to star on ‘Beauty and the Geek’
The grandson of legendary Brisbane restaurateur Michael Gambaro hopes to be pushed to ‘the next level’ on reality show Beauty and the Geek.
4BC panel operator Mike Gambaro has been named one of 10 ‘geeks’ to enter the experiment, alongside 10 ‘beauties’.
The new group will face a series of challenges with the winning couple set to pocket $100,000 in prizemoney at the end of the show.
Mike, a Batman superfan, told Spencer Howson Beauty and the Geek was an opportunity to be pushed out of his comfort zone.
“For me, it was a big thing of needing to find something that could push me into the next stage of my life,” he said.
“2020 I always describe as the worst year of my life, being [over] 18 for the first time and lockdowns hit, then ending on my grandfather passing away.
“2020 I fell, 2021 I started to pick myself back up and now, 2022, let’s go full guns blazing!”
He said it’s a show of a different kind, being the “most wholesome reality TV show you could possibly watch right now on Australian television”.
“It is so lovely, so heartwarming,” he continued.
“Everyone you are going to meet, all the beauties and geeks, … they are probably my best friends for life and I’m so excited for everyone to see it.
“It was probably the best experience I’ve had [in] my life but not as fun as working at 4BC!”
