QPAC brings back mask mandate amid COVID-19, flu surge
The Queensland Performing Arts Centre is bringing back its mask mandate.
QPAC says it is in response to a particularly bad flu season and COVID-19 cases.
From tomorrow masks will be required in the foyers and theatres including during performances.
Authorities have been encouraging Queenslanders to wear a mask, but have fallen short from re-introducing any mandates.
Currenty the only place they must be worn in Queensland is in public transport and in taxis and ride shares, in healthcare settings, in aged-care facilities and disability accommodation, prisons and on planes.
Neil Breen has questioned if other venues and operators will follow suit.

We know not everyone will love this, but we’re determined to keep delivering live performance & ensure everyone’s health & safety. If that means masks, we’re up for it and we know you are too.
