The Queensland Performing Arts Centre is bringing back its mask mandate.

QPAC says it is in response to a particularly bad flu season and COVID-19 cases.

From tomorrow masks will be required in the foyers and theatres including during performances.

Authorities have been encouraging Queenslanders to wear a mask, but have fallen short from re-introducing any mandates.

Currenty the only place they must be worn in Queensland is in public transport and in taxis and ride shares, in healthcare settings, in aged-care facilities and disability accommodation, prisons and on planes.

Neil Breen has questioned if other venues and operators will follow suit.
