Australian soccer fans will have the chance to farewell the Socceroos who will take on New Zealand for a friendly at Suncorp Stadium, ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

It’s also a centenary game.

Socceroos star Craig Goodwin told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports there was still a buzz around the squad.

“There’s not a lot of football to be played before the World Cup, especially for players playing in the A-League so we will only get maybe 4 to 5 League games before a break for the World Cup.

“So to be involved in the September camp it’s a crucial camp in terms of people trying to stake their claim for the final squad for Qatar.”

He said it’s a friendly but it will be very competitive!
