Mesothelioma: 40 years on and still no cure

It’s been 40 years since Turner Freeman Lawyers ran its first asbestos claim in NSW in 1982. They also successfully prosecuted the first product liability claim in Australia against James Hardie in 1987.

Throughout the 80’s, Bernie Banton was the public face of victims. Like so many victims of asbestos-related disease, he died before his time. Legal cases are still being fought out in courts.

Naveed Alam, is a thoracic surgeon from Melbourne who has been treating mesothelioma patients for 20 years…..Naveed says we still can’t cure mesothelioma, but we can extend lives.
