Parramatta coach’s quiet confidence ahead of Penrith clash
Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur is quietly confident heading into the NRL final series.
Speaking on Wide World of Sports with Peter Psaltis ahead of Paramatta’s clash with the Penrith Panthers tomorrow night, he said they are coming in with better form and a stronger team in 2022.
“I feel like in terms of the strength of our squad, we can’t get any stronger.”
Asked about young Dylan Brown, Arthur said he can’t protect players from criticism or attention, even when it’s unfair.
“People’s expectations of these blokes at a young age is sometimes over the top and not realistic, it just takes time.
“At the end of the day, I can’t mother them and baby them … they’ve got to be able to rise to it, the good players do and the players that don’t they get better at it with more opportunity.
“Dyl is someone we haven’t tried to protect, we put him out there and he’s got to own his moments, he’s got a lot of accountability and responsibility and he plays a big role in our team.”
