Peter V’landys recounts memorable meeting with the Queen
Peter V’landys was one of the last Australians to spend a significant amount of time with Queen Elizabeth, before her passing.
The ARLC chairman and boss of Racing NSW,was invited to Royal Ascot back in June where he shared lunch with the Queen.
Mr V’landys was seated next to the Queen at Windsor Castle, and said he will treasure the meeting for the rest of his life.
“It was quite surreal to be honest,” he told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live.
He said the room went quiet when the Queen walked in.
“It was like an angel walked in the room, with a light on her,” he said.
“There she was, she came up and was charming and friendly from the minute you met her.”
