Peter Psaltis: Klein ‘shouldn’t ref another final’ after seven deadly sin-bins
Ashley Klein shouldn’t referee another finals match after setting a league record yesterday, Peter Psaltis says.
The Rabbitohs emerged victorious over the Roosters in one of the most ferocious games in recent league history that saw a whopping seven sin-bin calls
Klein struggled to maintain spotfires throughout the match, binning Victor Radley and Taane Milne twice.
Tom Burgess, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Junior Tatola also copped marching orders from the referee.
“I think you can point the finger at both teams, particularly I think the Roosters for losing the plot yesterday,” Peter Psaltis told Laurel, Gary & Mark.
“But also too, at least one or two fingers have to be pointed to referee Ashley Klein. He lost control yesterday and he didn’t regain it.
“He didn’t assert his authority on the game as a match official should. He shouldn’t referee another final after yesterday.”
