Peter Psaltis says last night’s performance has launched the Panthers into the NRL’s all-time great teams.

“They’re a very, very good team,” Psalty told Laurel, Gary & Mark. “They’ve had three grand finals in a row, back-to-back premierships.”

“They’re in discussions now of the Eels of the ’80s and Canterbury, Brisbane and Canberra of the ’90s, the Melbourne Storm and the Roosters of the last couple of decades as well.”

It wouldn’t have mattered who Penrith played last night, the outcome would’ve been the same, Ray Hadley seconded.

“Parramatta were never a hope,” he told Laurel, Gary & Mark. “It’s very rare in sport where everything comes together, particularly in team sport.

“Penrith were on the one page last night and it was just quite remarkable, just a fantastic performance.”
