‘Matriarch of the country music world’ Loretta Lynn dead at 90
Country music legend Loretta Lynn has died at the age of 90.
Her tales of heartbreak and poverty won her three Grammy awards and induction into the Hall of Fame for her song Coal Miner’s Daughter.
Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Laurel, Gary & Mark she never stopped working, and “even had a gig booked for last night”.

Lynn’s family released a statement, saying their precious mum died peacefully in her sleep at her ranch in Tennessee.
