Paniyiri makes long-awaited return to Brisbane, honey puffs and all!
Honey puffs, souvlaki and plate smashing are returning to Brisbane with the Paniyiri Greek Festival this weekend.
The festival was postponed in May due to wet weather but organisers were determined 2022 would still see its comeback, after a two-year break during the pandemic.
Paniyiri organiser John Lazarou told 4BC Breakfast there’s plenty of exciting things to see, do and eat at Musgrave Park this weekend.
John: “We’ve got Laurel, Gary & Mark on the park, I’m pretty sure…”
Mark Hine: “I know I’m definitely going along because I grabbed a couple of free tickets and I cannot wait to be there!”
Gary Clare: “Peter Psaltis will be there.”
Laurel Edwards: “He’s plate smashing. And also, Michael Gambaro, the Prince of Caxton Street, who was recently on Beauty and the Geek, he’s still looking for love, so [he’ll] be in everything.”
John: “We will make sure that we try and find him a Greek bride and of course, that would blend in with our Married at First Sight thing we’ve got happening as well…”
