Life after footy: Former NRL player’s huge career shift
Former NRL player Dale Copley has opened up about life after hanging up the boots and saying goodbye to his NRL career a year ago.
In total, he played 148 games for three clubs, the Broncos, Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast Titans.
After finishing footy he graduated with a law degree and has been officially admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland.
He spoke to Neil Breen about what moved him to look to life after footy, watching the horrific injury Jharal Yow Yeh suffered, and how it ended his career.
It made him realise how quickly it can all come to end.
He said he’s grateful for the opportunity to shift into law.
“It’s certainly very different, I suppose nothing sort of prepares you for that change in career.”
