An historic water tower in Logan is getting a much-needed facelift.

The Park Ridge Water Tower will soon feature a mural of two ANZACs to reflect the area’s wartime history.

The idea came about after Councillor Jacob Heremaia cheekily suggested painting the tower orange to get the community talking.

“The feedback was overwhelming,” he told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

“People wanted a mural that celebrates our history and especially our ANZAC history.”

Councillor Heremaia said it’s hoped the mural will be completed in the new year, but the weather will play a major role in the timeline.

“I’m going to host an event and if people want to come meet the different people involved, that will be hosted when the mural is opened.
