Christmas happiness is homemade
Bill Woods speaks with Viv Anthon, Gift Wrapping Expert, Founder of the Daily Wrap, who says handmade gifts reflect forethought and love and are far from a second-best option.
If you’re going down the handmade route, a few words of warning. Make sure you start early (like now!) to gather ideas, leaving yourself enough time to turn your vision into reality.
Hastily finishing off a craft project after midnight on Christmas Eve is unlikely to being you much joy.
Secondly, handmade works best when you already have the materials required as buying expensive containers, tools, tapes and bits and bobs can really add up.
Now’s the time to start a collection of jar and tins to make candles, bath salts, terrariums, snow globes, flavoured salts, and sugars, as well as cookie and brownie mixes.
Final word – choose something you’ve made successfully before. Sticking with the tried and tested reduces the chance of costly Pinterest fails and means you’ll create a super signature present.
