A Sunshine Coast influencer has been charged after allegedly modifying a “clown car” and performing dangerous stunts on camera. 

Videos posted to Sam Eyles’ YouTube channel, which boasts more than 200,000 subscribers, appear to show the former circus car being rolled down an embankment and performing burnouts.

Police say there were also instructional videos on how to modify vehicles.

“Putting not only your own life at risk but those of your mates for the sake of social media notoriety is childish and selfish behaviour,” Sunshine Coast District Superintendent Craig Hawkins said.

“Sharing these antics with his large contingent of online followers has come at a significant financial cost, both in fines and the loss of vehicles.”
