‘Sent from heaven’: Unbelievable plays propel Argentina to World Cup final
The party has started for Argentinians as Lionel Messi leads his team to the FIFA World Cup final.
The South Americans thrashed Croatia 3-0 in their semi-final match-up, setting up a meeting with either France or Morocco on Monday.
Asked to summarise the match on 4BC Summer Breakfast, former Socceroos captain Paul Wade said, “In a word, Spencer: Messi.”
“That’s it, full stop, underlined, capital letters. Whatever you want to do – sparks, fireworks, everything, wow.
“If you get a look at the goal that he set up [Julian] Alvarez, where he’s run 40 metres at full speed, beat two players, his hand, shirt pulled, hair pulled, everything and he still got the ball there!”
ALVAREEEEEEZZZZ! 🔥
Croatia had several attempts to clear their lines but couldn't stop a solo run that started at the halfway line! 😲
