Thinking about quitting social media in the New Year?

Bill Woods

It’s that time of the year again, when we start thinking what our New Year’s resolutions might look like.

Sometimes reflecting on stopping a habit that makes us feel bad is a good way to start. For many, this would be social media.

Bill Woods is joined by Dr Marny Lishman, Health & Community Psychologist, who says ‘social media has been shown to cause distress for many people, so it’s not surprising that we toy with the idea of giving it up.’

‘There are many benefits to ditching it, including elevating your mood, increasing self-esteem, and giving you more time.’

‘In these modern times, is it realistic that people disable their socials and stay off them?’
