Luke Bradnam is hoping the on-field collapse of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin will spur more people to learn CPR.

The 24-year-old went into cardiac arrest and collapsed after tackling Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins.

“If you saw the vision, it looked innocuous,” Luke said on 4BC Summer Breakfast. “We have seen nearly every tackle in the NRL look worse than what this one was.

“But a 24-year-old, fit as a fiddle, you can imagine one of the fittest human beings on the planet, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, he just collapsed on the field after making this tackle.”

Hamlin was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition, 16 minutes later.

“The bottom line is there was someone there who knew how to conduct CPR,” Luke continued. “This is something we can all do.”
