Grab your shopping bags and reading glasses because a mammoth 1.5 million books have been rolled out for the return of the Lifeline Bookfest.

The much-loved event, which is in full swing until January 22, is back after  a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“We’ve essentially got a book for everybody at the Bookfest,” Lifeline Retail general manager Jamie Mackay told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Bookfest without beloved MC Mark Overall and you’ll be able to catch his hilarious lines over the loud speaker.

“Especially on the weekends,” Mr Mackay continued. “Mark’s been doing that for a number of years and does a terrific job, so yes, he is a character and is part of the event in itself.”
