‘I intend to change things’: Crisafulli reacts to sentencing of Qld paedophile
The state leader of the LNP has promised to harshen the sentencing of paedophiles in Queensland “when things change”.
A 28-year-old man was this week sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a five-year-old boy for 12 months from February 2017.
Opposition leader David Crisafulli told Ray Hadley something needs to be done.
“Those laws need to change and Queenslanders have had enough,” he said.
“Now, if you can look at that and not be moved emotionally, but more importantly, moved to want to change something, well, I don’t know what planet, and what your heart’s made of.
“I’m governed by doing what is right and I intend to change things. I can assure you that things will be a hell of a lot different when things change in Queensland.”
