Australia, France team up to supply Ukraine with artillery shells
Australia and France are teaming up to provide extra ammunition to war-torn Ukraine.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Defence Minister Richard Marles have agreed to supply the gunpowder for French shells.
They will be delivered to Ukraine almost immediately.
“That is really the biggest development, the most significant development in this last while,” ANU Centre for European Studies research fellow Sonia Mycak told Sofie Formica.
“For the first time, the western nations are now giving their own heavy armaments. Zelenskyy has actually been asking for tanks ever since the full-scale invasion back in February last year.”
