Florists throughout the city are preparing for the biggest day of the year as the sun rises on Valentine’s Day.

Bart Hassam, a floral designer and co-founder of Maison Fleur, told Laurel & Mark he didn’t sleep a wink overnight.

“Just with red [roses] alone, I think we’re sitting at about 4-, 4500,” he said. “And that’s just the red. Some people like white or pink.

“It’s a big thing to get them all out and done.”

Mr Hassam said while the classic arrangements are always a seller, some paramours have more creative requests.
