Police continue to hunt for a man they describe as “armed, dangerous, irrational and unpredictable” after three violent incidents last week.
Mitchell James Wilson is believed to have an AK-47 and has been on the run from police for three days after his alleged involvement in two shootings and a house fire.
Video appears to show him firing bullets at a man’s feet during a heated argument in Brendale on Thursday morning.
His electronic monitoring bracelet was removed in Bracken Ridge before he allegedly went to Mount Gravatt, waited for two women to finish work and attempted to force one into a car.
The pair were able to escape and hide in nearby bushes.
The 27-year-old arrived at a Sunnybank home 20 minutes later, where he confronted a man, doused the hallways and bedroom in petrol and set the home alight.
While nobody was hurt in the incident, the house was destroyed.
Today reporter Andrea Crothers told Luke Bradnam police have searched a number of homes around Brisbane but have so far been unable to locate Wilson.
“That semi-automatic gun he’s got with him, they also haven’t seen any traces of that,” he said.
“They’re going on the assumption that he is still armed, that he is still dangerous, irrational and unpredictable.”
