Jack Beasley’s killer loses bid to appeal sentence
The teenager who killed Gold Coast teenager Jack Beasley has lost a bid to appeal his jail sentence this morning.
The killer, who was 15 at the time, was jailed for seven years for Jack’s murder in Surfers Paradise in 2019 but was attempting to shave another two years off his sentence.
The Court of Appeal this morning refused the application, less than two weeks after the passing of Jack’s Law.
Speaking outside court today, Jack’s parents said they were “super proud” and can now “move on with Jack’s Law”.
A big and emotional thumbs up from Jack’s Dad. The family & their supporters hope it’s the last time they’ll have to be at the courts @9NewsQueensland pic.twitter.com/JN3qXnYaC8
