Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has a plan to ensure Paniyiri Festival goes ahead without displacing the homeless community in Musgrave Park.

Amidst the cost of living and housing crisis, homelessness in Queensland is growing – particularly in West End’s Musgrave Park.

Neil Breen described it as a “mini tent city” that’s “growing by the day”.

Brisbane’s huge Paniyiri Greek Festival is set to be held in the same location in just two weeks and stallholders are worried that the event may need to be cancelled.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner joined Neil Breen on Brisbane Live to discuss the solution that will ensure the festival goes ahead, while people are also cared for and not evicted from the park.
