After trawling through almost one-thousand tonnes of waste material, police have called off the search for the body of missing Brisbane woman Lesley Trotter.

Officers have spent the past three weeks searching for the 78-year-old’s body at a Swanbank landfill site, after CCTV footage proved that Trotter’s body was inside a wheelie bin when it was collected from her Toowong home on March 28.

But with no new leads, police have suspended that search today.

QPS Detective Superintendent, Andrew Massingham, joined Neil Breen on Brisbane Live to explain what their next steps are.
