Police are searching for three prisoners who escaped from a Rathdowney prison on Sunday afternoon.

Today Show reporter Aislin Kriukelis joined Laurel, Gary and Mark on 4BC Breakfast to provide the latest update on the developing situation.

Ms Kriukelis said it’s believed the prisoners escaped yesterday afternoon from Palen Creek Correctional Centre.

The escapees include 32-year-old Daniel Badcock, 20-year-old Osiah Pilton, and 28-year-old Antonio David Mene – all of whom have quite distinctive tattoos.

Police and correctional services have been searching for them but Ms Kriukelis warned that “they could be anywhere”.

Ms Kriukelis said the advice for the public is “not to approach them if they see them, but rather to call police on triple zero”.
