‘It’s age discrimination’: Former Queensland policeman calls for retirement reforms
Detective Inspector Jon Rouse spent thirty-nine years working in the Queensland Police Service but is being forced to retire.
Rouse had worked for years on Task Force Argos as its head, dedicated to investigating online child abuse material but as he hits sixty, must retire due to state police laws. Argos is an internationally respected and renowned team, and Rouse was Queensland Australian of the Year in 2019.
Speaking on The Ray Hadley Morning Show, Rouse implored Queensland to consider reforming the law to allow workers to choose.
