A parliamentary inquiry looking into financial support for victims of crime has been launched.

The inquiry committee found that victims of crime often experience significant delays when accessing financial help, with wait times often longer than 300 days.

The inquiry is recommending the state look into the Financial Assistance Scheme and waiving fees for government documentation.
