The alleged Bulimba carjacking on Sunday afternoon is just one of many instances of youth crime taking place in Queensland; Bulimba Community Centre is working on a way to bring more direction to youths in the community.

A Bulimba man was allegedly threatened by two teenagers on Sunday afternoon who were armed with a shovel and a knife.

They’re accused of stealing the man’s Audi A3; police were able to track down and charge the 17-year-old and 18-year-old suspects.

It’s led the Bulimba community to brainstorm creative solutions to keep the community safe and help young people in the Bulimba area.

Operations manager of the Bulimba Community Centre Cate Vickers joined Bill McDonald, filling in for Neil Breen, on Brisbane Live to discuss the Bulimba community’s new project.
