Fire ants are causing concern in Queensland
Fire ants have been a persistent problem for many years; however, there are growing concerns that they could break containment lines in Queensland.
The breaking of the containment lines could see fire ants spread from South-East Queensland to Western Queensland and New South Wales.
Jack Gough, Advocacy Manager of the Invasive Species Council, told Peter Gleeson on 4BC Drive that fire ants are a very serious problem.
“The numbers are starting to grow, the issue has grown, and we haven’t gotten ahead of it early,” Mr. Gough said.
