A Brisbane-based rower has been saved following his endeavor to become the youngest individual to complete a Pacific Ocean crossing.

While on the voyage, Tom Robinson’s boat experienced a 14-hour capsizing incident and was subsequently rescued by a P&O Cruise Ship, which deviated 200 kilometers off its course to locate him.

Mr. Robinson told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “Yeah I’ve been rowing all day…nothing unusual, I was finished rowing and just sitting inside the cabin, contemplating dinner and I had the hatch open to let a bit of air in the cabin and that was my fatal flaw…”

“So I was stuck on the boat for 14 hours until I was picked up by the Pacific Explorer…It was really tough, I was tied onto the boat at this point cause there were waves quite frequently breaking over the boat…” Mr. Robinson continued.
