An Aussie GP recently advocated for a revision of national workplace laws that require employees to present a medical certificate for even a single day of sick leave, arguing that that this practice consumes valuable appointment slots, with patients seeking certificates solely for their employers.
In contrast, the UK employs a self-certification system, with medical evidence only necessary for absences exceeding 7 days.
