Peter Fegan

On the show: Feegs returns to the chair with plenty of topics to cover. First up, the Bruce Highway has forever been a huge issue in Queensland and after another tragedy last weekend, locals in Townsville and Queenslanders all over the state want the Bruce Highway fixed. But whose responsibility is it? QLD Transport Minister Bart Mellish calls in to discuss the issue with Feegs, and also finally admits that the State government did not consult with council prior to the 50c public transport fares announcement.

Acting Assistant Police Commissioner Colin Briggs joins in place of Andrew Massingham for a weekly update on the latest local crime issues and statistics. He also provides an update on Task Force Guardian and their latest achievements and figures.

Aspire Retire Financial Services co-founder Olivia Maragna joins for Money Talks. Olivia explains the pitfalls of having multiple Superannuation accounts, why Australian homeowners falling into mortgage arrears has reached an eight-year high and shares which of the big banks are rolling out some surprising new perks for its millions of digital banking customers.

For our Local Issues segment, QLD Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski joins Peter to provide his perspective on the fatal Bruce Highway bus crash, the recent light sentencing imposed on two youth criminals that broke into the home of Totaui Kefu, and the internal report on the performance of the Queensland police weapons licensing branch – that found public safety was compromised by decades of cost-cutting and inaction on numerous reform recommendations.

4BC Sports reporter Sam Leckie covers all the latest from the weekend’s action and we hear from former Wallaby, Red’s Fly Half and Stan Sports commentator Nick ‘Pickle’ Frisby ahead of all of the club rugby action and the huge Wallabies v Wales game in Sydney tonight.
